The members of the South Hero Library Board of Trustees would like to extend our deep gratitude to the voters of South Hero for your overwhelming support on Town Meeting Day. The success and growth of the Library, its services and programming, are only possible because so many of you find value in having this important community resource. The results of the opinion question included with your ballot, regarding reaching out to neighboring communities to share library resources, will help guide the Board’s choices and decisions as we move forward with the new building.
Stay tuned for more news about this exciting project and feel free to contact Keagan at the Library or any of the Trustees if you’d like to get involved or if you have any questions. Again – THANK YOU, South Hero.

South Hero Library Campaign Nears Goal
“We are excited to announce that we are closing in on our goal to build a new South Hero Public Library,” said South Hero Library Foundation President Ken Kowalewitz, “thanks to the generosity of our community, and especially several foundation grants and recent notification of a significant bequest.”
To date over $1.2 million has been raised in cash and pledges toward the $1.5 million goal needed to build a new library for South Hero.
“We are confident that our community can help us close the gap so that we can begin construction on our new library later this year,” said Kowalewitz. “It is fitting that our community puts us over the top, as our new library will be far more than a place to check out books and videos. It will act as a Community Center for our town and our County promising engaging social, literary and technological experiences to patrons of all ages, interests and abilities.” Continue reading
